據傳聞，古時候有座山叫猿猴山，猿猴山有一國，名為猿國。猿國有一罕見白猿，猿國尊護白猿為神，稱“猿神”，百姓日夜供奉，祈求平安。近日，有傳言說“猿神”暴怒，不會再庇護猿國了，國主才會久病不起，導致猿國上下人心惶惶。為了穩定民心，猿國國主請求太極村掌門延一道人幫助猿國調查傳言真相，讓百姓心安。延一道人派遣弟子玄城前往猿國協助，探尋背后真相。

該片以詩圣杜甫創作鳳凰臺為引，講述了三位甘肅成縣人士回鄉參加鄉賢大會時，揭開了一段深埋于記憶長河的往事。
