Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 　　因忍受不了男友Moses（任賢齊）的平凡，阿Mi狠心與他分手，塞翁失馬焉知禍福，Moses在老人院做義工時，與怪脾氣老頭蛤蚧王成為忘年之交，后者死后，給他留下巨額遺產。蛤蚧王的此舉招致其律師Allen的不滿，他在夜總會發泄時無意中將此事告訴了小姐Didi（張柏芝）。　　為將Moses釣到手，Didi使出渾身解數，無奈均不奏效。發現Moses是絕種好男人后，Didi對他動了真心，兩人開始熱戀，不久，Allen將Didi的原來身份相告Moses，令他異常傷心，此時，阿Mi又前來要與他復合。
