Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 美滿姻緣

　　與丈夫（安東尼·拉帕格利亞飾）慶祝完結婚25周年后不久，丈夫出差在外，達西（瓊·艾倫）在車庫找電池，卻無意中發現丈夫就是新聞中說的“臭名昭著的連環殺手比蒂”。　　影片的小說藍本是金2010年出版的短篇小說集《暗夜無星》（Full Dark, No Stars）中的一篇。金在接受采訪時說，小說的靈感來自于2005年被捕的美國“BTK連環殺手”丹尼斯·雷德（Dennis Rader），他就有一位結婚三十四年的妻子寶拉（Paula），對他的殺人行為毫不知情。金表示，小說探討的是，人與人之間永遠不可能完全了解，即使是最愛的人也一樣。
