來自西域的舞姬阿離三年前慘死客鄉，身首異處，她的妹妹阿月來到事發的客棧，聯合戲法師李久成和縣令張承合謀演了一出大戲，將三年前涉及此事的相關人等都聚于一堂，巧設妙計讓當年害死姐姐的兇手互相指證現形，最終查明了姐姐死去的真相，洗去了污名并昭雪報仇。

Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
