加拿大小姐（CaroleLaure飾）在貞操帶基金會主辦的世界小姐大賽中勝出，得以同基金會主席身價五百億美元的富翁兒子成婚，新婚當晚，加拿大小姐驚見對方的陽具閃耀著金屬的色澤。與此同時，一艘名為幸存者的船在河面搖曳，一位英俊水手被美艷的船長安娜（AnnaPrucnal飾）吸引，沿河岸追逐；加拿大小姐欲終止婚姻，反被富翁的母親交給一名健碩黑人處理，黑人把加拿大小姐郵寄到了埃菲爾鐵塔下。在那里，加拿大小姐遇到了一位西班牙歌手，兩人發生了關系之后卻一時無法分離；水手終于登上了安娜的船，安娜稱他為波坦金號的難民，船上有數不清的糖，安娜與水手縱情享受，又引誘了一些兒童上船；加拿大小姐被一群嬉皮士收留，他們瘋狂的行為令加拿大小姐失魂；最終安娜殺死了水手，被警察帶走。加拿大小姐則拍攝了一則色情巧克力廣告。

　　Following her mother’s death, manga artist Soriya travels to her ancestral home in Phnom Penh, with hopes of reconnecting with her distant family and using the visit as inspiration for her work. All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present.　　Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
