該片故事講述一名變態殺手（克里斯托弗·阿波特 飾）計劃在酒店招妓（米婭·華希科沃斯卡 飾），并將其謀殺。然而他計劃卻失敗了。

　　林寶生（周潤發 飾）是香港富豪，與表妹玉仙（利智 飾）早已訂婚。但寶生并不喜歡未婚妻的庸俗，決定逃婚，并要證明自己能獨立生活。出走的第一天，他陰差陽錯來到了一個慈善晚會，認識了晚會贊助商東東快餐店的老板（夏雨 飾）與其妹妹（張艾嘉 飾），還成為了快餐店的員工之一。寶生與一群善良的同事度過了一段難忘的時光，他也看到了自己價值的存在，與老板的妹妹也產生了感情，但他與表妹的婚期將至，他的真實身份也將浮出水面，而他與老板妹妹的感情又會如何呢？

Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
