高中英文教師李淑敏（余香凝 飾）一直努力教學，卻發現學生對她的課程始終興致缺缺，反而熱衷到補習班上課，視補教天王K.K.Ho（王浩信 飾）為偶像。李淑敏決定潛入補習班一探究竟，在課程中被KK發現，兩人針鋒相對，大吵一架，但竟激起KK對她的好奇心及好感，送花道歉之外更展開追求。 李淑敏對學生熱衷補習頗不以為然，更對補習班充滿偏見，她還發現KK任教的補習學校校長就是自己的爸爸李龍基（吳岱融 飾），她小時候認為父親嚴厲的言語，是間接害死母親的兇手，父女親情淡薄，一見面就吵架。 然而KK的出現，讓李淑敏改變對補習的看法，也開始用新的方式教學，患有心臟病的她，因過勞而昏倒，但她仍為了學生們重要的文憑檢測強行出院，讓父親非常擔心，就在一個大雨天中，一場意外驟然而至，讓他們都措手不及。

Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
