Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 開心鬼撞鬼
黃百鳴,張曼玉,袁潔瑩,陳加玲,徐克,曹查理生前是過氣女歌星的女鬼徐半香（張曼玉），算準某名將要臨盆的孕婦會于某間醫院生產，準備投胎重新做人，不想，該孕婦被搖身變作某所高中教師的開心鬼（黃百鳴）送錯醫院，徐半香錯過投胎時機。 為泄心頭之恨，徐半香開始想方設法捉弄開心鬼，最甚一次，她附身開心鬼班里女班長（袁潔瑩），令她跑到夜總會稀里糊涂地大鬧了一場，結果在該家夜總會尋歡作樂的一群流氓被抓，開心鬼受到無辜牽連，徐半香又得意又擔憂之時，開心鬼卻用愛來感化她，眼看皆大歡喜，出獄后的流氓不請自來。
