貴州女子王桂香（廖琴暫無內(nèi)容飾）和丈夫在北京辛苦打工，誰知一場意外打亂了他們不算富裕卻還平靜的生活。丈夫與人口角，因打傷別人的眼睛而鋃鐺入獄。失去經(jīng)濟(jì)來源的桂香萬般無奈，只得帶著3歲的回到家鄉(xiāng)。為了籌措保釋金，桂香想盡辦法籌錢。最終他在老情人的指點(diǎn)下，成為一名專門在葬禮上哭喪的職業(yè)喪殯人員。
