William Baldwin,安琪拉·瓊斯蓋布麗（安琪拉·瓊斯 Angela Jones 飾）的童年里有一段非常可怕的經(jīng)歷，年幼的她曾經(jīng)在兇殺現(xiàn)場親眼目睹死尸。這一段奇異的人生經(jīng)歷讓蓋布麗開始對尸體和死亡產(chǎn)生了好奇之心，這股子好奇隨著她年齡的增大越發(fā)強烈起來，蓋布麗甚至會特意的收藏報紙上的謀殺新聞做成剪報冊，時時翻閱溫習。 邁阿密接連發(fā)生兇殺案，被害者均是養(yǎng)尊處優(yōu)的闊太太，而且無不身首異處。這起連環(huán)殺人案件很快就吸引了蓋布麗的注意，為了能夠更加接近命案現(xiàn)場，蓋布麗來到了一間專門清理命案現(xiàn)場的保潔公司應聘成為了員工，并且在機緣巧合之下同連環(huán)殺人犯（威廉·鮑德溫 William Baldwin 飾）有了一面之緣。

All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present. Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
