　　A filmmaker discovers a box of video tapes depicting two students' disturbing film project featuring a local horror legend, The Peeping Tom. As he sets out to prove this story is real and release it as a work of his own, he loses himself and the film crew following him into his project.

Claudio Nervi, an eclectic director, and Lucia Neve, a disillusioned producer, are looking for a new actress who could help them with their latest feature film, a project that is undoubtedly adrift. During a meeting with one of the most promising candidates, Stella, the girl will reveal them that the script of the movie is pretty similar to a story she knows well: the story of how she died.

　　公元22世紀，因為人口過度膨脹、過度開發、環境極度惡化、食物也消耗殆盡。人類想要存活下去，就必須要到宇宙中去尋找新的可以棲身的星球。因此制造了一艘當時最先進的太空飛船，去考察發現的一顆可能適宜人類生存的星球。羅伯遜（威廉·赫特 William Hurt  飾）一家被選中擔負起了這次探索使命，他們將用10年的時間前往阿爾法星球。可是，這次擔負起全人類命運的任務卻有反對的聲音，部分邪惡勢力妄圖阻止這次任務。所以，當羅伯遜一家駕駛太空船剛進入太空的預定軌道時，反對派史密斯博士暗中進行破壞，導致飛船脫離的正常的軌道迫降到了一顆不知名的星球上。飛船上邪惡勢力的阻撓，不知名星球上的種種危機，如何才能重新設定新的航線……各種問題困惑著羅伯遜一家，他們真的就此迷失太空，無法到達目的地了嗎？人類的命運將何去何從？
