本片改編自足立紳同名小說，電影版是包括未公開場景的導(dǎo)演剪輯版本。年過40卻依然不受歡迎的編劇、沒有收入的廢柴丈夫·柳田豪太（風(fēng)間俊介 飾），與吃軟飯一樣的丈夫和兒子一起維持生活、拒絕丈夫的邀請、還破口大罵的可怕妻子·柳田千花（MEGUMI 飾），兩人之間展開了又笑又哭的夫婦故事。
