　　1999年釜山的一個小村莊里，女學生恩智（劉慧英飾）被害身亡，她的哥哥張宇（周元飾）也失去了唯一的親人，他決心一定要查出殺害妹妹的兇手。由于一點線索都沒有，張宇不得不借助能預知死亡的少女（李柔英飾）的力量來追查真兇，并在追查的過程中，盯上了小區內平常人緣和口碑都不錯的藥店藥師閔藥局（劉海鎮飾），雖然沒有證據，但是張宇卻認定他就是“那個家伙”，于是開始24小時緊盯著閔藥局  。

　　阿美（王祖賢 飾）是個美麗的女孩子，可是天生腳就有殘疾。她的父親（黃霑 飾）因被堂叔欺騙買下了一間破舊不堪的超級市場，花掉了畢生積蓄的父親變得瘋瘋癲癲的。阿美既要照顧父親，又要幫忙打理超級市場，生活的重擔落在了她的身上。在一次交通意外中，司機梁少祖（周潤發 飾）以為自己 把阿美撞至殘疾，十分內疚，便決定要幫助阿美經營超級市場。阿美一開始并不信任梁少祖，到后來他聯合朋友來幫助自己的超級市場度過難關，心里滿是感動，兩人更墜入了愛河。
