某日，英俊帥氣的青年倉橋順吉（勝然武美 飾）和身穿和服、恬靜賢淑的葉室千枝子（愛染恭子 飾）在牙科醫院邂逅。順吉為對方的氣質所吸引，久久注視，幾近忘我。少頃，兩人先后走進診室，經過麻醉后，他們的意識漸漸模糊，繼而仿佛進入一個光怪陸離、充滿肉欲的奇幻世界。順吉夢到自己來到 一間舞廳，而千枝子是正在臺上翩翩起舞的舞女。衣冠楚楚的牙科醫生（佐藤慶 飾）此時化身邪惡、變態的老板，對千枝子進行肆意虐待與凌辱。順吉想盡辦法，希望帶千枝子離開這里。然而眼前的一切亦真亦幻，真偽難辨，仿佛一場痛入骨髓的惡夢一般…… 根據日本官能作家谷崎潤一郎的同名小說改編，本片系導演武智鐵二第二次將該小說搬上銀幕，據上一部間隔17年之久。

Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
