劇情提要

　　記者玲（李心潔飾）的男友Peter獲得一宗刑事案件的新聞線報，前去取證途中突然遭遇交通事故意外身亡。玲覺得事有蹊蹺，調(diào)查后發(fā)現(xiàn)一宗模特命案。女模特Helen裸死于家中浴缸，富豪之子張承志沒有不在場證據(jù)，但事件竟被警方低調(diào)處理，張承志的相關(guān)證據(jù)也被消除。玲為不愿男友枉死，誓要調(diào)查出事件真相，但報社總編輯曾達(dá)時（梁家輝飾）卻不愿為玲伸出援手。無奈之下，玲只好求助常常被追債的飛(黃秋生飾)與馬仔(葛民灰)幫助她調(diào)查真相。飛原來是警察出身，在調(diào)查中，他發(fā)現(xiàn)Peter的死因確有蹊蹺。隨著調(diào)查的進行，黑暗中的黑手不斷想將玲置于死地，究竟事件的真相能否登上報紙的A1頭條？真相與言論自由的賽跑，在香港的午夜開始。

　　Following her mother’s death, manga artist Soriya travels to her ancestral home in Phnom Penh, with hopes of reconnecting with her distant family and using the visit as inspiration for her work. All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present.　　Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
