總統班底

 根據水門事件揭發人Carl Bernstein和Bob Woodward所寫自傳改編的電影。二人是《華盛頓郵報》的記者，在水門事件里，他們歷盡艱辛揭開政治黑幕，人物和事件一同成為美國一段家喻戶曉的歷史。故事由五名盜賊開始，他們潛入水門大度行竊。本來是一樁不甚重大的刑事案件，卻在Bernstein（達斯汀·霍夫曼Dustin Hoffman 飾）和Woodward（羅伯特·雷德福Robert Redford  飾）的追查下，最終撕開了一條大裂縫，矛頭直指總統尼克松。從1972年到1974年，從尼克松競選總統到尼克松連任上臺，華盛頓郵報受到的壓力越來越大，甚至被威脅。主編本·布萊德利站在了新聞自由和相信自己記者的這邊，Bernstein和Woodward得以繼續追尋事件真相，得到了重要線人“深喉”的幫助，經歷了難以想象的曲折艱辛后，水門事件最終導致尼克松總統下臺。

等待方舟

　　Set in an underground dungeon inhabited by bundled, ragged human beings, after the nuclear holocaust. The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart.　　Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory?　　n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in.　　What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts.　　On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired.　　One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places.　　Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.

小婦人2019

 馬奇夫人（勞拉·鄧恩 Laura Dern 飾）有著四個如花似玉的女兒，大女兒梅格（艾瑪·沃森 Emma Watson 飾）擁 有著美麗的外表，和對于愛情的天真憧憬。二女兒喬（西爾莎·羅南 Saoirse Ronan 飾）滿腦子塞著古靈精怪的念頭，整天拿著蘸水筆東寫西寫，她的故事在全家上下都受到了熱烈的歡迎。三女兒艾米（佛羅倫斯·珀 Florence Pugh 飾）渴望成為一名畫家。最小的女兒貝斯（伊萊扎·斯坎倫 Eliza Scanlen 飾）雖然個性比起三個姐姐要來的內向的多，卻擁有杰出的音樂天賦。在馬奇夫人的教導之下，四個姑娘漸漸成長為了擁有獨立人格的杰出女性，她們熱情、樂觀、善良，每個人都在各自的道路上堅強而又堅定的前進著。

終極囚禁

　　美國德州一所高中，以布萊德利（賈斯廷·阿諾德 Justin Arnold 飾）為首的一眾男女學生風生水起，橫行霸道，經常以欺負人為樂趣。印度裔學生萊比（Vincent Silochan 飾）、瘦小的戴恩（馬克·多納托 Marc Donato 飾）和有些內向自閉的女孩艾米莉（林德賽·西德爾 Lindsay Seidel 飾）等人更是他們優先欺負的對象。學校的狀況已然如此，與親人的關系又分外冷淡和緊張，戴恩他們的生活看不到一點兒希望。　　8個月前，戴恩的叔叔去世，留給他一座偌大的農場作遺產。飽受欺負且試圖自殺的他找到和自己同病相憐的幾個人，他們決定把學校的小霸王們請到舉行派對，在勁歌熱舞之中展開準備已久的血腥復仇……
