蘇三（鐘真 飾）、鳳翔（冬怡 飾）和青云（楊嘉玲 飾）是妓院中新來的三名雛妓，老板高老大（植敬雯 飾）負責對三人的管理和訓練。高老大拍賣蘇三的初夜權，雷大官人（徐錦江 飾）和書生朱志昂（邵傳勇 飾）都想要得到蘇三，而蘇三和朱志昂是老想好了，最終，朱志昂獲勝，雷大官人則買下了鳳翔。朱志昂進京趕考，貪婪的高老大便趁此機會逼迫蘇三賣身，所幸善良的雷大官人及時趕到，納了蘇三為妾，將其收至自己的庇護之下。然而，雷大官人的正房十分妒忌美貌的蘇三，她伙同情人害死了雷大官人，將罪過栽贓到了蘇三的頭上。蘇三面臨著審判，情況十分危急。

It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
