本格派推理作家寒川，在博物館觀佛像時偶遇少婦靜子小姐。靜子作為推理小說迷，與寒川迅速熟絡交好。不久，靜子小姐意外的接到一封署名大江春泥的恐嚇信，原來與寒川同為推理文學界競爭對手的另一位變格派推理作家大江春泥是靜子早年的男朋友，曾因靜子的另嫁他人而陷入人生的低谷。時隔多年 后，大江春泥以變格推理小說家的身份再次出現并打算實施報復，靜子原本平靜的生活受到了干擾。隨著一封封恐嚇信的到來，靜子發現自己無時無刻不被人監視。迫于無法與丈夫坦白的壓力，靜子只能救助于寒川.......結果卻招到了恐怖的反擊....
