Mikheil Chiaureli是斯大林的御用導演,《攻克柏林》長達近五個小時,分上下兩部,處處著重突出最高統帥的高瞻遠矚。影片結尾,斯大林乘飛機抵達陷落的柏林,接受蘇軍的歡呼。其實這是“藝術虛構”。和《斯大林格勒戰役》一樣,這場實際主要由朱可夫將軍指揮的戰役,影片中絲毫沒有他的影子。當時朱可夫已經因為功高震主,被羅織罪名,發配到烏拉爾軍區去了,這是1946年的事。這部1949年的電影很自然地就將朱可夫的功勞“藝術虛構”到偉大領袖的頭上了?! ∫驗檫@部影片,導演連續獲得了兩次國家獎金,包括1950年的斯大林獎金。中國觀眾熟悉的《難忘的1919》(1952)也是出自這位導演的手筆。值得一提的是,這兩部影片都是由蘇聯作曲家肖斯塔科維奇譜曲的。

Following her mother’s death, manga artist Soriya travels to her ancestral home in Phnom Penh, with hopes of reconnecting with her distant family and using the visit as inspiration for her work. All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present. Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
