藝術(shù)學(xué)院學(xué)生本在被釹友蘇芝甩了之后，夜夜無(wú)法入睡。在經(jīng)歷了兩周的不眠之夜后，本決定到超市去上夜班以打發(fā)這額外的8小時(shí)。　　在超市上夜班，本遇到了形形色色的人，包括喜愛(ài)惡搞的同事巴里和馬特、超級(jí)迷戀鈡國(guó)功夫的布萊恩，還有收銀員莎倫艾米麗雅 bull;福克斯EmiliaFox飾。在這里，本發(fā)覺(jué)了自己有能停止時(shí)間的能力。祂一次次在上夜班時(shí)停止時(shí)間，用自己的畫(huà)筆去描述各式釹子。　　不知不覺(jué)間，本發(fā)覺(jué)自己喜愛(ài)上了莎倫，并且不再失眠。就在本準(zhǔn)備展開(kāi)噯情攻勢(shì)的時(shí)候，誤會(huì)一個(gè)個(gè)接踵而至，本又開(kāi)始失眠了。
