Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 少女椿

　　故事發生在繁華的大都市東京，十四歲的少女阿綠（中村里砂 飾）失去了唯一的親人，孤苦無依的她在誤打誤撞之中走進了名為“赤貓座”的巡回馬戲團中，就此拉開了悲慘人生的序幕。無處可去的阿綠在馬戲團中受盡了眾人的凌辱和折磨，淪為奴隸和傭人，日子過得苦不堪言，每一天都是地獄般的寫照 。　　就在阿綠快要絕望之時，侏儒魔術師出現在了馬戲團中，出現在了她的眼前。侏儒魔術師的出現讓快要倒閉的馬戲團重現生機，他亦成為了馬戲團中最重要的成員。與此同時，阿綠在魔術師的身上找到了久違的溫暖和感情，兩人決定結婚，雙雙逃離這充滿了痛苦的魔窟。
